Sounded strange to me as well, but it seems as though people do it!  There are a few necessary components that are needed before you go though.  In your bag must be packed:  12' windscreen, tent shelter, trousers, pull-over, jacket, scarf.  Things you can leave out of your bag:  sunglasses, sunscreen.

Strangest thing that I've ever seen.  The beach is lined with huts that people can rent for the year.  This actually seems like a great idea considering sitting on the beach is not very pleasant and swimming is out of the question.  This way you can at least enhale the good 'sea air' without having to actually be outside.

For awhile we thought we had it covered.  The sun would peek out from amoungst the clouds for a few minutes every once in awhile.  Quickly we would huddle behind a wall to block the wind and try to get a bit warm.  But after awhile, the angle of the sun was such that whenever we blocked the wind, we also blocked the sun!  Even so, we had an icecream in defiance.  Something we've learned from the English during these last few weeks...It dosen't matter what the weather is, they get out an enjoy themselves despite it all!

Brian has been wanting a day at the beach to lye around and roast his skin for many a month now, but it seems that he'll have to wait a little bit longer.

LOL
