festival and can get free tickets! Watching a rendition of West Side Story was fun - especially seeing the 'tough gangsters' dancing with flying leaps and pirouettes :) All kidding aside, we loved going out to the show and had amazing seats in the 2nd row.
This is a town I enjoy as it has a small town feel and is quite 'artsy'. So far, my favourite little eatery is the 'York Street Cafe' with their brightly painted walls, miss-matched dishes, crazy antique salt and pepper shakers, and amazing sandwiches. It seems that during this visit home we're eating out more than anything, and Brian and I have both put on about 10lbs each! Won't it be great to get out on our bikes again and burn some of this off!
Relaxing strolls along the river that winds through the downtown is how we're enjoying our time
between meals. Swans are placed for the enjoyment of the tourists although their wings are clipped. Touching story about a man who used to care for the swans and captured their predators, passed away a couple of years ago and they have noticed a difference in the population since. There is an area of the park sectioned off in his honor, as it is the area where the swans nest in order to keep them safe. Peeking through the fence we were able to see a mama on her nest. Babies are due to hatch next week, so we may have to take another peek then.
