Leaving Tafi del Valle was sad, it was such an amazing place. We could have stayed forever, but our next stop only took us a three hour bus ride further, to Cafayate, just as beautiful as Tafi.

Cafayate is also surrounded by the Andes and is famous for it's vineyards. So one thing on our To-do list here was to go for a wine tasting. We had expected a bit more than trying three different wines within 5 minutes but for our first ever wine-connoisseur experience it was nice enough. Generally we acquired quite a taste for certain grapes, which I thought would not happen before I'm fifty-something. Malbec has become our favourite red wine, Chablis is on top of the white wine list. Gosh I sound old. But I'm sure as soon as we arrive home it is back to the good old housewine, most affordable of all.

But obviously wine has not become our only main concern in Cafayate. The beautiful surroundings still take our breath away. And after all the wining and dining it was time for some action to burn of the calories. So yesterday we made our way to a waterfall within the mountains. For that we trekked over boulders and rapids, for what seemed like forever on a hangover. In the end we rewarded ourselves by dangling our feet in the freezing Rio Colorado.

We liked the North of Argentina so much that we spent much more time here than anticipated. It's time to move on now - Bolivia is waiting.
