We are at a hotel just outside Bangkok airport to relax for a little bit before we catch our flight to India at 7am tomorrow. We are exhausted from the last days and also a little homesick but still very happy to have finally left Kota Kinabalu.

Two nights after we came back from the mountain we had another bedbug infested room. At about 1 o'clock a night, we were just about to go to sleep, I turned on the torch and saw the little brown bug crawling next to me on the mattress. At first we had hope that it was a last one from our luggage but when we found the second and the third one the last spark of hope went out.

After a frustrated debate of what to do next (Jack just wanted to sleep with the bugs but I couldn't get myself to do it) we packed our rucksacks in plastic bags and went, in our pajamas, equipped with only a credit card to the 4star hotel down the street. Yeah, in KK a bedbug free room is expensive! I would never go there again as a budget traveller.

It is funny though how those bugs put things into a new perspective. Now that we had to deal with them cockroaches appear as very pleasant roomies.
Our luck in recent days really wasn't with us. Yesterday when Jack run across the street and jumped onto the pavement, he slipped, flew through the air and landed on his back with a loud smack. It looked quite dangerous but he got away with only a bruise.

He also got bitten or scratched (it was far to quick to say for sure) by a squirrel when we hiked down Mount Kinabalu. So we just went to the clinic in the airport to get him a raibies boost. He needs a second one in India.
I'm happy to go there now, we stayed long enough in Southeast Asia. I just hope that we leave our bad luck behind.
