We arrived in Kuala Lumpur last night and experienced a bit of a shock to the system. After we had the best room of our travels in Langkawi, we moved straight into the worst room we had so far - no windows, dirt and the smell of rat poison (better that though than the crawleys). The days of luxury are officially over.
At least the hostel is just for the nights, during the day fascinating Kuala Lumpur is distracting us. Jack and I both fell in love with the city straight away, where Western flair crashes into exotic, urban oriental charme.
Within one day we strolled from the expensive shopping malls inside the glamorous Petronas Twin Towers to the steaming, overflowing markets of China town. There is no need for public transport, wondering around is sightseeing enough.
Kuala Lumpur is only a brief pleasure, the day after tomorrow we will catch a flight to Cambodia to storm into our next adventure.
