Four days ago we arrived in Hoi An. It was the first time we took a sleeper bus and I was terrified of that because of all the terrible things people had told me about these buses - no one had mentioned the cockroaches though! Obviously I spotted them after only two minutes crawling happily across the bottom seats and into the boxes where you stick your feet in. And obviously Jack and I had seats at the bottom right next to the creepy crawlers. So I spent 20 hours terrified and wrapped up in as many clothes as I had covering all of my skin to avoid any bodily contact with my arch enemie.
At least in Hoi An I had time to recover from the insect shock. We spent our days on the beach and the evenings shopping in the small but lively town. It was finally time to get the beach wear out, but unfortunately even Nivea sunscreen from the pharmacy turned out to be as fake as anything else so we ended up with a pretty bad sunburn. A couple from Scotland that we made friends with felt sorry enough for us to give us their 50spf sunscreen (we are still so grateful).
Today was my personal highlight. Because the beach was closed due to bad weather and rain we stopped over at a small Ozzie owned restaurant. We shared Nachos with beef and a baguette with black forest ham and cheese. I hadn't realized how much I had missed these things after more than a month of rice and noodles - but yeah, it was a feast for the Gods.

Tomorrow we will head down further south and hopefully escape the lousy weather that started today.
