Galway to Pettigo
Travelled via Castlebar, Foxford, past Lough Conn to Ballycastle which is Lindsay's ancestral home. Pity she hadn’t let them know we were coming, because there was no one there to greet us!!
Had a nice lunch there at Mary’s Cottage Kitchen, before moving on to Ballina, Sligo, Bundoran, Ballyshannon before reaching Pettigo. What a surprise. A 200yo Shooting cottage in the middle of deerstalking country. Very remote but beautiful. Pettigo is right on the border with Northern Ireland, and you can see where there was a no man’s land from the Troubles, when the town had the border splitting it in half. One part in the Republic, the other in Ulster or county Fermanagh. Also interesting is that the petrol stations have prices in Euros and Pounds, and signs now in miles after kilometres.
Off to do some stalking. Perhaps I might practice on the girls first.

Hello Tony & Sue,
Your photographs of Pettigo are lovely and I liked the Shooting Cottage - it looks very comfortable and the weather looked good there. Keep well both of you and take care and enjoy.
