I'm so excited today as we get ready to get on the best part of the coastal highway.  We are starting in San Simeon and as we start out this morning it's cold, misty and gray.  It isn't long before we start climbing and curving and it's so much fun.  We stop at a few points to take some pictures and you can hear the waves crashing on the rocks and the sun is starting to burn off the fog and it's so beautiful!!

When we get to the Big Sur area we stop at the Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park to see a waterfall and it was well worth the stop!!

We stop in Big Sur for a late breakfast; we sit outside with a view of the coast!!

We finally get to Carmel-by-the-Sea for me to do some serious shopping--Fun! Fun! Fun!

We then drive the 17-Mile Drive in Pebble Beach.  I get a picture of the Lone Cypress tree which is one of California's most enduring landmarks.  The Lone Cypress has prevailed on its rocky perch for more than 250 years. Yikes!!  I also get a picture of the Ghost Tree--with a trunk bleached white from wind, this unique Monterey cypress has a sinister silhouette.

We leave this area and get back on the road; we end the day at a hotel just south of San Francisco. I'm ready to crash but it sure was a fun day!! Sweet dreams everyone!!!
