Well, we have 1 final thing to do here in Los Angeles and that is for Dave to see the Pedersen Automotive Museum--so that's where we headed this morning. It's a beautifully done museum that describes and shows the history of cars and it went into different ways to get cars to go like steam, wood, batteries.  And then it had an area of Hollywood cars--my favorite.  They had the car driven by Tom Cruise in the Mission Impossible movie and the scooter from the Bat Man movie.  They had many more but those were my 2 favorites.

We ate lunch in a cute little 50's café in the museum and then we headed out of LA.

OMG-it's 12:00 noon and traffic is stop and go and cars are weaving in and out of lanes. Motorcycles are going between cars where there are no lanes. At one point Dave turns to me and says, "Even the grannies drive like Mario Andretti".    As we got out of LA and close to Ventura the temperature got so much cooler and a haze came up from the ocean and then I got my first glimpse of the water and I love it! All I need are my fruity drinks with the little umbrellas and I'm in heaven.

I'm also loving the beautiful flowering plants out here and here's an example-

We arrived at San Luis Obispo at around 5:30 p.m./we'll eat and rest.

P.S. I was really stunned at the number of homeless people in LA . In MN I've helped at the Dorothy Day center and I'm so glad there are places for people to go to but this was very different--
people sleeping on the sidewalk; people asking us for money; people collecting cans and turning them in for a bit of money. My heart was truly touched and changed!
