We set the alarm for a little before 5 AM in order to catch the kick off of the Super Bowl. I was so excited as this hotel had WI-FI plus the NFL online stated that the game would be on TV here on both Z sports and another channel, but starting at 6 AM. I have been able to get live streams online for other Packer games that were not on regular TV, so I figured it might take some time but we could watch the game.
At 5 AM we have no Internet connection. After 10 minutes of fooling around I call down to the desk and soon things were up and running. Eventually we found a site with audio of a TV coming from Florida. I could hear it, but the commentary made it difficult to follow along. About the third quarter when all the exciting scoring action was happening, that link stopped working. We searched around and finally found BBC radio for the last 6 minutes of the game. It was much better play-by-play action as it was a radio stream but funny to hear it coming with an English accent.
We did have a happy ending but there is no one here to share it with as the Super Bowl didn't make the papers. There are 80 channels on this TV and at least 10 sports channels, most of which have round the clock cricket. tennis, or soccer. OH WELL. At least the packers won. Whoopie! Later today we hop on a 3 hour train to Gokarna, which has beautiful beaches and is a sacred site for Shiva.
