Again, I set out in the morning in my car, through the mountains, back past Christchurch (stopping to pick up an extra blanket in case there's another cold night), and off the Arthur’s Pass. Again, beautiful drive.  Words can’t describe it and pictures can’t do it justice.  But the road is just winding around all these mountains, going through valleys, navigating its way through the mountain range.  Driving through the rocky mountains would be the closest comparison.  I was having a blast.  I’ve never had more fun driving in my life.

And then my plans hit a little bump.  Literally.  The roads are narrow, so I was on the edge of my side of the road trying to make sure passing traffic could get by, and I hit a pothole.  A big one.  I thought I was going to miss it, but nope.  Anyways, I got a flat tire, which wasn’t bad…but The lip on the wheel rim bent up in one spot…that’s why the tire went flat.  So now I have to deal with that…however much it’ll cost.  Anyways, I popped on the spare (which is a real tire, not one of those lame spares), but that meant I had to take all the stuff out of the trunk, which had become my closet/dresser/pantry/kitchen…and since when I get to the hertz station in greymouth tomorrow, they’ll want to see the tire, I have to leave all my stuff in the back seat where I moved it.  I organized as best I can, but it just looks messy.

Oh well.  Made it to the village "Arthur’s Pass", went for a 2-3 hour hike, saw some awesome views, had lunch, drove to the campsite I was staying at, and here I sit, slightly bored.  Yes, there’s a nice lake, but it’s 7pm now, the sun is behind trees and clouds so it got cold, and the wilderness doesn’t have internet.

Well, tomorrow’s another day.  I didn’t even bother to set up my tent tonight.  I’ll just sleep in the car.

Until next time!
