Before I get started, I just want to make the observation that Australia is the world's frat house. It’s full of frat boy douche bags. Sorry, it just is. Obviously not everyone is like that. probably most of the people are nice, normal folks, but it just seems like many of the guys here wear wife-beaters, designer shorts, and big sunglasses (think "Jersey Shore…but not as bad). All the girls here dress like they’re going to a frat party. (But you won’t hear me complaining about that part.) But anyways, I’ve just noticed that for some reason, Australia has a lot of these types of people. I saw a kid flip out because he had to take a bus (the subway was under construction, so they re-routed us onto a bus). He picked up a sign and started banging it on the ground yelling all kinds of profanities about why he didn't want to take a bus. Then he yelled at some girl for looking at him. Ok, so this guy is a very extreme example, but that’s pretty much what you would expect from a typical jerk.
ANYWAYS! I took the train to china town! It was pretty cool. Nothing too special though. Singapore had a much better one (obviously). I wandered around going to whatever looked interesting, and found myself at a convention center that was packed with school kids. I think it was some kind of harry potter exhibit, actually. It looked cool, but I didn’t have a ticket so couldn’t check it out.
Right across the street was “Paddy’s Market". It was pretty much an extension of china town, but combined with a public market. There were hundreds of booths selling things for cheap, everything from souvenirs to electronics to food. I probably spent over an hour wandering around there, bought a few things, had lunch, and moved on.
I pretty much just walked up the bay to the maritime museum. It was OK. Like I said before, it was rainy, so I was trying to find things to do. I certainly wasn’t bored in the museum, but I definitely dragged it out longer than it should have lasted. Anyways, I was out for probably 5 hours walking around the city, and I decided to head back for the night. I'm actually pretty tired, so I'll just head off to bed. Gnight!
