As we travel south the first thing that strikes us is that this is a pretty nice road. Something we haven't been used to in Alaska - that's for sure!
We start off the day in the rain (fitting I guess) but we end up with a beautiful sunny and warm day of about 79 degrees. That's hot for here!
As I watch the landscape pass me by, I still notice so many homes have "junk yards" growing all around them - sad really. We are entering farmland, something we have not seen in a long time.
They are still warning us about "Moose Crossings" - I see about 6 and how many moose did I see? You guessed it none!!!
We pass through some very small First Nation towns. Telkwa; Houston; Burns Lake; Endako (pop. 70); Fraser Lake; Fort Fraser; Vanderhoof (pop. 4,649 - largest) and then Prince George which is actually a city with a population of 80,000. It's amazing how one can get so excited about seeing familiar large stores.
Other than planning how many days you can go without a dump site (rather important) you also have to plan where will you shop for food and other supplies. Luckily for us on this trip, we had so many breakfast, lunch and dinners planned for us, that we actually had to throw away some of what we bought not knowing all the time that they added a dinner or other meal.
9/5/Day 129 - After a nice breakfast and our goodby's people begin to leave and head out on their own to where ever their next stop might be
9/6/Day 130 - It's lonely here by ourselves! One other couple did decide to stay, but the place is definitely quiet now. We hear that Bill and Kathy will be in the campsite tonight, so we will stay another night to catch up with them (our former Tail Gunners).
9/7Day 131 - Today we leave Prince George and head South. I want to stop at a town called, 100 Mile House.
