July 19 -334 Mile drive to Dawson Creek, BC  This is where they measure the Alaskan Highway from.  It has been raining this morning, but we think it looks like the clearing has begun.  We are going to have our group photo taken at this marker.

It was a long drive for Nick, but it was an easy drive - not a whole lot of traffic and the roads were pretty good.  We did come across one stretch of road that was being resurfaced and we were warned to slow down (Nick can't go much slower, so we are ok).  About 3 or 4 coaches got chips in their windows - most from trucks passing at higher speeds and throwing the rocks up.  Luckily there is an RV place here and someone was going to come out and fix the windows at the park if they were not too far gone.  Luckily not us THIS time.

The road was very heavily treed with lots of pine.  Not the most spectacular road we have been on, BUT I did see my first wild grizzly bear!!

Love your sense of humor!!! Now if the animals would only obey those crossing signs you could really have many more shots!! Camera that is!!!!!

A grizzly! I am more jealous than ever! I pray that you do not see the giant beaver again!

I am so glad it is the two of you and not the two of us and thank you for not tempting us "to be good sports" and join the group. Eeeeeeeeek. Jean ps Zeke said I expressed his sentiment EXACTLY.
