The drive today to Lake Louise was not a long one, so once we got settled we went on an extensive car ride with our friends and didn't get back until almost 9 p.m.  It stays light here just about till 10:15.  Wait till we get to Alaska!!

One of our stops on Dave's tour was the Banff Springs Hotel run by the Fairmount Hotel Chain.  It was built in the 1880's by the Canadian Rail Road and turned into a hotel later.  It now has 750 rooms!  Quite impressive!  After that we saw the Lake Louise Chateau and truthfully it is not as majestic as the Banff Springs, but beautiful none the less.  We will have lunch here tomorrow.

We then went up to Morine Lake and got there about 7:00 p.m. and it was really beautiful and the color of the water is like nothing you see anywhere in the states - well maybe except for Crater Lake in Oregon.

We had lunch in a small restaurant in the town of Banff and then on the way back to our campsite we took the scenic route and came across one bear and 8 big horn sheep right in the road!  Very cool.

Hope you are enjoying our trip as much as we are.

It's getting to the point where we see something and we say, it can't get better than this, and then just around the next corner it does!!!  Amazing.

OMG I can not believe you saw bears! How fantastic! We were at Lake Louise the first week of May and the lake was completely frozen. We hope you are seeing the thawed out version! Love you, Kathy and Roger
