Day 70 - June 8th - Today we left Coeur d'Alene for our first stop in Canada, 160 miles to Ft. Steele.  We decided to get a head start, so we left at 7:30 a.m.  Well, that quickly turned into a nightmare as we turned right instead of left and had no place to turn around in until we had travelled about 10 miles out of our way.  Then some idiot "kid" started yelling at us about why we were parked in this particular place and got really nasty (my inner sailor came out and I let him have it)!  JERK...  After that ordeal, we went back to the campsite and started over again. (In order to turn around we needed to unhook)...so much for our headstart!! Coming here we turned into the wrong campsite only about a mile from our destination, and had to unhook there as well.  SO we are getting very good at getting ourselves out of tight spots.

Our campsite at Fort Steel was amazing. We viewed the Canadian Rockies, had 4 Emu's next to the campsite and several horses.  Very pretty!  We all had a great dinner together put on by our  hosts and it was a a great night.

The next day they wanted us in Calgary one day early so we all packed up early again for this time a 250 mile trip!  We also needed to be here in Calgary by 4:00 in order to be ready to be picked up for a dinner at the Winter Club!  So we made it around 2:30 so all was well this day!  We are in the McMahon Stadium parking lot.  Electricity and Water and shower facilities at the stadium which are quite nice so we are doing well for 5 days here!!  We have lucked out with the weather and are enjoying every bit of what Calgary has to offer.  ONE THING IS CLEAR  - these people know how to get things done!  It is mind boggling to know that just 3 weeks ago, the town, the Calgary Stampede grounds and half the city were under as much as 15 feet of water and you would ABSOLUTELY not know it!  They banded together in record numbers and it shows!
