What I did
J.J. Audubon State Park and Museum

Today we decided to leave the coach here in Paducah and just drive the car up to Henderson, KY a trip of 98 miles.  We went to the J. J. Audubon State Park, Museum and trails.

The museum was amazing with three rooms of memorabilia with his drawings, taxidermy animals, several historical things to read and personal items.  It was quite extensive.

On the ride out there, I was practicing for my book of "nothing" and I did pretty well.  Poles in the middle to the pictures, totally missed barns with trees only..and on and on it went.

After the museum there were several trails that you could hike so we headed out and took the Woodpecker Trail which proceeded to go straight up hill - Nick and I did our share of huffing and puffing up that incline (you could hear woodpeckers, but couldn't see them) and then we came to a fork in the trail, so we decided to go to the lake.  They did say that it would lead to steep steps down to the lake and that the trail would continue around the lake (what they DIDN'T say was that we were going to have to blaze that trail ourselves.  It was this skinny path that we were following (now I know how Davey Crocket must have felt - well not really - just being dramatic)!

Our road kill for today was Raccoon which should go nicely with my Opposum stew.  Protein never hurt anyone - or did it?  We'll see...you first Nick!!

Off to Springfield, IL - the Land of Lincoln.  He is one of my favorites so I'm hoping to see some great things.  We did go through one of the small towns today that had a historical marker denoting that Lincoln had spoken there...cool.

Stay well....Sandy and Nick

Really super bunch of photos --- best yet! I have tried B&W before, but they never worked like yours have. Mine just looked like bad clips from newspapers.

You could probably make an interesting photo album of pictures, all of which were "photo-bombed" by poles, trees, wipers and the like.
