I am writing this at 5:30 in the morning...been up for an hour...apparently I'm not used to the time change.

Yesterday we arrived in Paducah (only a 3.5 hour drive from Nashville) and Paducah was a pleasant surprise.  At first we thought it might be just a "jumping off point", but it is quite quaint and full of history.

Friends I am going to publish a book after this trip called "Vanishing America".  I was thinking how beautiful my photos would be of picturesque old barns in disrepair out on these green rolling hills, each one more beautiful than the next!  Here's the problem, the pages of this book will all be either blank or blurred!  Apparently we are not going to either stop or slow down long enough for me to get a picture of ANYTHING but through a screen or with the very attractive and LARGE rear view mirror on my side, OR I can take one through the front window and maneuver around the also very large windshield wipers...such a dilemma!  For now that book is very much on hold.  My son suggested that I strap myself to the roof for better (or any) pictures while we go from A to B destinations - and you know, I think he has a point!!!  I'M SERIOUSLY THINKING ABOUT HOW I WILL GO ABOUT THIS...

We actually had a beautiful sunny warm day for Paducah, but our luck is about to change again on that score.  Today we were going to take the coach up to Henderson to the John J. Audubon State Park which is 100 miles away, but we think we may just take the car as the weather is once again turning to rain.  Possibly in the car I may get some scenic shots before the rain hits.

Ahh, the road kill is getting more diverse! We saw a perfectly good Coyote on the side of the road and a raccoon...I know that deer doesn't have a chance in ...to fit in my stock pot, but I may get out the ax and "make it work"!  A little Old Bay seasoning and I might just have something here!

Hope you are all well.

You are doing fine work with the camera. I recall one trip talking a roll of film every day and getting it developed every evening. Film? You may have to Google that one. In the Galapagos I shoot an entire "brick" of film. (Not sure even Google knows what that is).
