The time has finally come.  After running around for the last two weeks tieing up loose ends and getting my bag packed I am finally ready to go.  Heres some pictures of me with all of my stuff laid out ready for packing.

I'm currently writing from a hotel in SeaTac, WA just hours before I need to wake up and head to the airport.  On Saturday (1/19) I left home in Wenatchee and headed over the mountains to spend the last couple of days in Seattle before beginning my journey.

Saturday started my trip with a blowout going away party hosted by my good friends Brian and Amber.  I couldn't be more humbled by the amazing outpouring of support from my incredible friends.  People headed from not only all over the state to attend the get together but to my surprise, my big bro Alex showed up unannounced all the way from Washington DC!!  We spent the night eating, drinking, and playing music and finally ended the bash in the wee hours of the morning.  In true Wenatchee boys form we knew how to throw a party and we got it done right.  To all of my friends (and Alex) I cant thank you enough for showing up and making the party more than I could have ever expected.

After catching up on some much needed sleep and watching some football, Alex and I headed out to meet up with the parents where we were treated to a great italian meal.  Today we spent the day in Seattle shopping for a few last things I need for the trip and then ended the day washing it all down with some of the city's finest sushi.  Now after repacking my bag and double checking everything I need I am just about ready to go.  A few hours of shut eye and I'll be up and heading for the airport.  After arriving in Amsterdam my next job will be to locate my buddy Brian who not only hosted the going away party but also is accompanying me to Amsterdam, the first stop on the epic journey.

Stay tuned for lots of pictures and exciting stories to come.  For now, I'm off to attempt a few restless, excited hours of sleep.
