Well here i am again, sorry for the huge gap in travelblogs, but here in Launceston it seems they boycoted the internet for all but the rich elite. the only affordable internet is the libary, which may i add you have to stand to use to prevent extended use, hence the gigantic gap in travelblogs, thats my excuse and im sticking to it. (also means no photos, sorry again)
Apart form internet issues Launceston is fantastic, surrounded by mountains on all sides, and complete with a gorge only 10 minutes away that would beat Cheder gorge in a padgent any day, and town parks that have freaking monkeys in them! it is certainly a random town. Quite like Norwich in the sence all the shops are close together, alas no castle though, but only with the novelty that all tasmanian places have, the guarnatied death off all commerce and entertainment from 12pm saturday to 10am monday, so definitly not suited for those with more lazy inclinations.
The Gorge itself deserves more than just a byline really, its unbleiavable, with swarms of walabies lizzards and rocks its certainly livly, apart form the manny suspended swinging bridges, half way through the treck is a open lake with a swimming pool of all things! its fantastic, not heated, but even in tasmania its not a issue as normal tempratures are still about 25, the water is crystal clear and manny a day ive whiled away swimming and reading by the lake shore, havent tried swimming in it yet but when theres a clean swimming pool 10 feet away theres not much compitition, definitly a 7/7 in the gorge rankings.
Working has been the name of the game here, and like manny things its like waiting for a bus, you have to wait a ferw days and then your inundated with choices, so yesterday we packed in the apple picking job in favour for a much better paid less ladder involved grape picking job whihc i should be starting tomorrow, by the beach, an Australian ive become friends with through the apple orchard, family owns a beach house where we'll be working so it may even be possible to camp out there instead of the drive each day, cutting very much down on transport, so hoping greatly that that goes through.
Anyway As some of you may of figured why did i quit yesterday if im not going to be working today? well unfortunatly the supervisors are sick or something so work has been delayed a day, so the plan for the day is now to go to the gorge and do hang gliding, it is wire guided so dont worry, anyway hope your having fun, miss you lot.

Cool :op
Wow It certainly sounds like an interesting place! Pity about the lack of affordable internet sources. . . . perhaps you should start a trend there, get them more involved in it?! lol, liking the idea of you walking through a park and seeing monkeys all over the place hehehehe!
Am pleased to hear you aren't just lazing around lol! The gliding sounds like fun! And your Australian friend could make things much easier for you :o)
As usual, glad to hear you're still enjoying yourself and not missing dreary old England too much (Although it hasnt been that bad lately; this week I've witnessed a heatwave where people walked round in straptops, shorts and flip flops and a freak snow/hail storm! hehehe!)
Anyways will be home for Easter soon, so back to Norwich for me. . . . will be quiet without u there. . . . (Soon be my birthday! Yay! :oD) Will talk to you on msn soon hopefully if you can find somewhere cheaper to surf from?
Keep up the good times Mike! Luv me xxxxxxx
Beautiful Sunrise
Hello! I'm glad we finally get to hear from you again! Good to see that you are ok and appear to be having fun! I see from the photos that you could do with a hair cut! :oP I can't believe that you managed to stay awake for sunrise....either that or you didn't ever get to sleep!
Anyways, take care and keep enjoying yourself! xx
Wow!!
These photos are great, love the sunrises, its good to see this gorge that you like. Guess the apple picking was a bit tough, doesn't sound too bad though, Granny did it for several years! Thanks for the Mday card, it arrived yesterday, I'll remember you're making me breakfast when you come back! Missing you lots.
Love M&D xx
