SMATT (Sam & Matt)

Weve been together since June 2012 and have done nothing but engage in our passion for travel, sports and lifestyle choice.
Its refreshing and rare for two people to meet and not remotely compromise on each others ideals for how they see the next 5 years and livelihood generally...

My backpacking experience V Matts seasonaire lifestyle did stir up some heated conversations on how the next 2 years pan out but after months of natter over a glass of wine (or two) the plan was formed...

Both feeling the pressure of a squeezed economy in the UK Matts self employed business brings nothing but stress and whilst my day job working in insurance brought money to the table we were merely living to work, consumers of Tesco and paying vast amounts of money on rent, bills and petrol!  The decision to move away from the UKs spendthrift economy for a period one chilly October evening over a glass of wine and afew emails later and we were set for a summer job in SW France to start April 1st.

So, the race was on with 5 months to go we set on a mission to buy a camper van (with no money saved at this point) over the course of October we went to view several campervans under 3k.. all of which were either rotten or off the road, we started to think the plans we had made were going to be foiled due to funding until we met a kiwi couple off Gum Tree who were desperate to sell there converted ambulance called Rambo before heading back to NZ in a matter of days... what they had purchased for 3200 we purchased for a bargainous 1700!

Rambo The Ambo (said in a kiwi accent) was now born and the start of putting our plans into place were now set to take hold at a rapid rate...

My first entry on this blog will go into the costings of doing a camper up, the how to's, make do's, mistakes and how 2 people with little to no spare cash can convert a reasonably tired looking campervan into a new and modern home.

We hope you enjoy our blogging and the journey we are set to embark on over the coming months....
