Pjh60's Traveler Profile
About Pjh60
I have wanted to enter New York after having sailed across the Atlantic for a very long time. I can't explain why because I don't know. Also, the Panama Canal has held a fascination for me for a very long time as well and when I received a monetary gift for my birthday last June, I decided that it would be good to do something memorable with it rather than put it in the bank.
Most cargo ships that have New York and the Panama Canal on their schedules head westwards across to China after the canal. When I found a company that headed up the west coast of the States, I was well pleased and the rest is history as they say.
Now though, I am thinking about a round the world trip. It is very possible as many ships do just that but given that I have done one bit of the voyage, the question is do I repeat that bit or start again - doing a complete circumnavigation? I have an idea about the answer to that question....!
What do you think it may be....?

The question posed above has been answered. That circumnavigation idea is soon to become reality. Three and a half months away from home is quite a chunk of time but will hopefully satisfy the wander lust that is deep inside me.
I am going what some people describe as the 'wrong way' round - heading eastwards means I get less and less sleep each time the clock changes.
I am heading to China, then a change of ship to a smaller panamax vessel for the trip across the Pacific, up the east coast of the US (again) and finally across the Pond with the wind behind us.
Quite an adventure and one that I am looking forward to with great anticipation.
