- Have a massive (i.e. fatal) heart attack while skiing in waist-deep powder at the age of 82.
I worked in Research at a large pharmaceutical company for 21 years and managed to get downsized at the end of April 2009. An opportunity like this was not to be wasted and two months later it was off west (no jet lag) for a year round the world in South America, New Zealand, Australia, Singapore and Malaysia.
Although I've been sharing photos with friends since the start of the trip, looking at fellow travellers' blogs suggested that something a bit more structured than facebook albums would be a good idea. That said, The Great Escape is mainly photos and there won't be a whole lot of commentary.
It wasn't all play as I dropped in on friends in São Carlos and Melbourne to do a bit of science and try to make myself useful. Have a look at FBDD & Molecular Design if you're interested in drug discovery bollox or want to get in touch using the email address associated with my blogger ID.
