The most amazing moment in my life so far
Marrying my lovely wife. The birth of our beautiful children. Travels with my wife - children and Mom

Please note: I'm a bit behind on my blogs. I've posted the pictures but still have to put the stories that go with them on my blog. I'll be working on it over the next while but at the same time enjoying the summer weather.

My wife and I love to travel.  We love traveling to a place, renting a private home and staying there for a week. We've also discovered the joys of cruising. We have only traveled with Norwegian Cruise Lines and we love this company.

You might notice from the number of photos that I have posted to this blog that I love to take pictures. I really think it is neat how a picture freezes a moment in time with a simple push of a button. I am fascinated that such a simple little object can capture so much with so little effort. I love taking pictures and then looking at them again and again - not only looking at the main subject but seeing the other things that were captured in the background. I enjoy taking pictures of people, nature and buildings - and anything that captures my imagination at that moment. I like zooming in for my shots or turning my camera different ways to capture images on a new perspective. To sum it all up, Photography is Awesome!

We would like to go on more cruises. South America, Europe, Asia and Hawaii are on the top of our list. We are also thinking that a cruise to Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Russia and Finland would also be an awesome experience. We love cruising the Caribbean as well. There is a cruise that starts off in Florida and ends in Chile that looks especially exciting as well.

We would also like to stay in Hawaii, South East Asia and South America for extended periods of time. Other dream vacations would be Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia and Bora Bora/ Moorea, French Polynesia.

So far, my travel has mainly consisted of Canada (have visited every province in Canada - now need to see the three Territories), part of the USA, Europe and the Caribbean.  Of these places, my wife and I have traveled together in Ontario/Quebec, Atlantic Provinces, New York, some New England States, Florida, Panama Canal, Mexico, Costa Rica and the Caribbean. I look forward to crossing more countries off our bucket list together.

Besides traveling abroad, we also enjoy traveling within our own country - Canada. Two of my favorite road trips within this great country of ours is the Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia and The Icefields Parkway in Alberta. I would highly recommend both of these trips for anyone visiting Canada. They are both breath taking!!! Each province has its own beauty within it and has its own unique qualities. Prince Edward Island is another province that I greatly enjoy with its red dirt/sand. I also had the chance to visit Newfoundland when I was in grade 8 (Lyn Public School) as an exchange program with another school. This was my first big trip away from home and it really started my love of traveling from there on. After staying in Buchans, Newfoundland - I just wanted to travel - it was and still is in my blood.

There are many more things I would like to explore in Canada with Joanne. I hope to visit Newfoundland some more - esp. see Gros Morne National Park. British Columbia would be another province that I would like to explore again (more to the North). I haven't really seen much of Manitoba and Saskatchewan - so that would be on my list of travels. Of course, since I haven't been to the three territories (Nunavut, Yukon and Northwest Territories), I would also like to find out what they have to offer. I've seen pictures of the Territories and they look amazing - esp. in the warmer weather... :) Oh Canada! - How I look forward to exploring you MORE!!!!

To be honest, we just love to travel and that does not necessary mean we have to go far to do just that. Travel in our own neck of the woods can also be quite be rewarding. We enjoy trips in our very own province of Ontario. One of our favorite things to do is head to Kingston to take the ferry from the city to Wolfe Island - which has many wind turbines. We also like renting cottages on various lakes within the province. Ontario is a very beautiful province with many things to explore on its own right.

Not only do Joanne and I like to travel - We've also given the travel bug to Mom and the kids. We try to take them on many of our travels but with the kids especially still in school, it can sometimes be hard. Thank goodness, we have our Mom to help watch them when we take the occasional trip here and there. In the summer though, we try to keep the kids active with camps as well as family trips at cottages and such. I'm also hoping to take a trip with Mom this spring or fall.. or maybe both.. :) I'm thinking a VIA rail trip from Brockville to Vancouver might be fun for both of us. My dream (once Mom gets a passport) is to take her on a cruise. I'm thinking about a small seven day cruise (out of New York City) to see how things go (which would include Florida and the Bahamas) and then if she likes it - take longer cruises with her. I also think the kids would love to go on a cruise as well.

Overall, we love being in the warmth of the sun, near a body of water and seeing new things. Traveling is in our blood and we want to see many more places before we die.We are always adding new destinations to our bucket list. If you have a suggestion of a place that you think we'd love - Suggest Away!!!!

Two songs that seem to express our love of travel are: 1) "Maybe Tomorrow" (The Littlest Hobo Theme Song) by Terry Bush AND 2) "Born to be Wild" by Steppenwolf. Both songs sing about the need/want to travel and all the excitement that it entails. One of my favourite songs is "Wake Me Up" by Avicii.

As for trips planned for the near future:
Boating on the St. Lawrence River - Summer 2014
Prince Edward Island - August 2014
Florida - December 2014
