Deedledee's Traveler Profile

I got the idea to start a detailed travel blog last year when I decided to spend some time in Nicaragua. At first when I told my friends and family I was spending 6 weeks in southern Nicaragua, everyone thought I was crazy! Sadly there is still quite a stigma attached to many countries like this.My family were afraid I would be robbed, or attacked by machete wielding "bandito", a leftover from the Sandanista movement in the 1980's!!
 
So from the first day I left my home in Vancouver, I ended each day with an update for everyone back home. A little something to reassure them that all was well in "paradise"

As the weeks went by I found many interesting topics to blog about, and always found an array of unusual photo opportunities.After a short while I had a loyal following of friends and family checking into my blog. 

When I returned again to San Juan del Sur this year, I had to try to do it all again, but I was there for double the amount of time!! In the beginning I was worried that I may run out of good subject material, and subsequently lose my reader's.However after just a few days I realized that there was so much more to see and do in Nicaragua, and I had no doubt I could continue entertaining my follower's!

So now it is April, and I've been home for a couple weeks.I do miss the daily blog entries, but I am pretty sure that when I return to Nicaragua again next year, I will once again find an unlimited number of intriguing people and places to pick up where I left off!
