Hello All!!
After an amazing summer feeling unbelievably proud to be in London and the UK during the London 2012 Games, it is now time for me to embark on a long dreamed of adventure to help me fulfil 2 ambitions. Firstly, attempting to learn Spanish, particularly as languages have never been my strong point. Secondly, the opportunity to use some of the skills which I have gained during my professional experience as an Architect. And all this whilst travelling and exploring South America and Antarctica!!!
I will endeavour to keep this blog up to date as I travel, updating on my attempts to learn a language, describe the weird and wonderful people's and places I encounter along the way, as well as the general highs and lows that come hand-in-hand with adventures like this...
Any tips as I go would be great, as would any contacts in the places I will visit - less of an excuse to use English with other travellers, and always good to get insider knowledge of new places rather than relying on the tourist guides.
