I am the world's luckiest man !! I have been so very privileged, and fortunate, that I often stop and think about all of the wonderful things I have experienced. I have never taken anything for granted and live every day as if it will be my last. I am very happily married, have a sensational daughter, granddaughter, and son in law, two wonderful stepdaughters, a great sister in law, brother in law, their children, and mother in law. I live in an amazing place with great friends. I am healthy, having gotten through having a Melanoma 12 years ago. I am reasonably athletic (swim a 1/2 mile, 36 laps, 5 days a week, and also walk a mile every day), and have taken up guitar playing and singing at age 61, and so far have memorized about 35 songs. My favorite person to cover is Leonard Cohen. I have been to Europe 21 times since 1973 (19 to Italy), and have two wonderful Italian friends, Lidia and Luca, who have graciously opened their homes and hearts to me. At this point I travel with my wife (and friends) to Italy once a year, usually October, a lovely time. I had been teaching (and supervising) Mathematics in high school and college for 41 years, and still love it, although I have retired completely from both jobs. And yet, every day I learn something new. I have had an absolutely amazing life !!!!! Incidentally, all photos that appear in my blogs were taken by my wonderful and talented wife, Laura Gurton, who is an accomplished artist. Many people read my blogs, and I would be very pleased to know who you are, so please e mail me at AJGreenhalgh@gmail.com. I now produce a TV show for Woodstock Public Access TV called AlansItaly. All the shows appear of Youtube. Please tune in, and although they are long (almost an hour) it makes for some good travel watching of Italy. Thank you.
