The folks at LonelyPlanet.com have just released a new feature that will get your blog onto their guide pages.
You can submit your blogs to their “Blog Sherpa” program and once someone has reviewed and categorized it, your blog will be seen by people planning a trip to someplace you’ve already been.
Here’s how:
1. Login to your LonelyPlanet.com account here. You can even use your Facebook account if you don’t already have a Lonely Planet account.
2. Click on your profile photo to go to your Lonely Planet profile.
3. Click “My travel blog” on the left hand side
4. Click “New travel blog” and fill in the boxes.
5. Make sure you check the box beside Blog Sherpa that says, “Yes, please consider my blog for “Blogs We Like”"
Once someone has approved your blog, it will be displayed on one of Lonely Planet’s main pages.
Good luck, and let me know via the comments below, if your blog was chosen to be part of the program.

Hi Lonely Planet
I very much hope my blog will be chosen for the Blog Sherpa programme, but it is really the site http://www.hiddenpousadasbrazil.com which is the main source of information on Brazil. Unlike the good old days when most people left sites alone for months and sometimes years, this one is updated with new content and new photostreams on a daily basis.
If you want to use any content or iinformation from this or the blog just let me know.
Cheers
Alison

On second thoughts my advice on getting your blog onto Lonely Planet’s website is don’t bother ! I don’t know what the intention is with Blog Sherpa, but any travel guide that puts simply “Your blog has been rejected” in the subject line of their email to travelers and potential customers who have submitted their blog for consideration, deserves everything it gets. I have certainly removed any reference to Lonely Planet and all affiliate links from my site, blog and newsletter.

Hmmm… that’s strange. I wonder why they didn’t give you a reason.
My blog was rejected as well, but they told me it was because the content was not fresh enough.
