Every so often I come across hilarious photos while perusing the TravelPod blogs.
Here is a great one of some stray dogs napping in Mendoza, Argentina by Arikandcharis. I burst out laughing at as soon as I saw it.

The Dogs in Argentina are much more refined!

Nice picture, very humourous. Only in Argentina would a dog have standards.

Iain, you don’t. http://www.travelpod.com is down for maintenance at the moment. You will be able to access your blog later, most likely tonight, possibly tomorrow.

I have to reply to the photo of the pack of poor dogs, although I can just about see what you “mean” when you laughted at their sight, what an appalling life for these dogs, it always break my heart seeing stray dogs as I sponsor dogs from the Dog trust. I now live in France and here the dogs are not so well treated in many cases as in UK but in Argentina a country my other half knows through working trips, an education of the people has to be done so that the argentinians like so many other races around the world can start to understant the animal kingdom and the argentinian government also must understand that it needs to legislate to stop the ridiculous proliferation of unwanted dogs and cats. Argentina is apparently a most beautiful country
where animals and people should be allowed to live in harmony. A gret desl of work will need to be done; South America should lead the way towards a better life for its 4 legged creatures.

Marie-Laure:
Yes, you are right, the plight of stray dogs in the world is nothing to laugh at. I hope that something can be done about the problem sooner rather than later.

the life of a stray dog in south america is bliss – having spent 6 months there they love it. running round without a care in the world.
you can almost see them laughing at the other dogs who are kept in small apartments or on leaches

Those dogs look better than a lot of them did when we were in the Yucatan last month and quite relaxed on a public bench. In Valladolid, the dogs were terribly thin and were wary of people. Much of the population of the Yucatan are poor too so it’s hard to combat the needs of stray animals above the people I suppose. My heart goes out to all underpriviledged creatures.
