Two Mumbai hotels have reopened since the brutal terrorist attacks only two weeks ago. Some of our bloggers had the opportunity to stay at these hotels before they were temporarily closed down. They are quite luxurious and well-worth delving into the blogs for.
Shirlbell was lucky enough to stay at the Taj Mahal Palace before embarking on a journey to the islands.
Arrived in Mumbai OK and met my driver – it took almost 2 hours to get to the hotel from the airport - so much traffic (10 times worse than LA – at least LA traffic does not have to compete with sacred bulls wandering about the roads). The hotel is great – the taj mahal hotel – over 100 years old and has hosted every head of state who had visited india and other celebrities (beatles, etc.) fabuolous rooms and decor.

Jazzkat6 felt right at home at the Trident Hotel, blogging about the luscious pillows which lulled him off to sleep.
But if there is a yin to Delhi’s disorderly yang, it is our beautiful home base at the Trident hotel. While there, I constantly marvel at how relaxed I feel. With it’s smooth Moorish design, pleasing neutral color palette and candlelit walkways, the only thing that impresses more than the perfectly manicured grounds is the impeccable service. Arriving there sometime after 1AM, my comfy down pillows cooperate well with a dose of Lunesta and show me the way to 10 hours of blissful sleep.

Boxedoff.com also enjoyed the pillows at the Trident Hotel (formerly known as the Hilton Towers). He liked them so much, he had to blog about it.
The Hilton Towers was home for three nights in Mumbai and it’s a pretty fancy hotel (it’d want to be for the rates they charge!). I arrived late at night and settled in for what was undoubtably the best sleep I’d had so far on the trip. When I get home, I’m gonna find out where they get their pillows and get some shipped over, whatever the cost! They were amazing!!!
