TravelPod featured (briefly) in Google video

By starlagurl

Google has created a few very hip-looking videos about companies that use their mapping technology to create interesting and useful services.

This video specifically concentrates on TripAdvisor’s Local Picks and Cities I’ve Visited Facebook applications, but at around 2:35, you can see a quick demo of TravelPod’s use of Google’s maps in our blogging software.

Google has made it really easy for other companies to use their technology in their existing website layout, and TravelPod is one of many websites taking advantage of that adaptability.

Just recently, we’ve upgraded our blog mapping feature to display a 3D view of every member’s trip route. If you’ve already got the GoogleMaps 3D plugin, you’re ready to go.

Don’t know if you have it? Install the plugin and throw yourself into a world of 3D goodness. With Google Earth, you can zoom in and change the angle of the map in your trip route as if it was a globe.

Check it out and let me know what you think in the TravelPod travel forums.

See you there.
