10 things NOT to bring…

By starlagurl

We’ve all been in that situation, standing in the middle of the living room, stuffing everything into your pack and then immediately trying to decide what to take out.

His top 10 list of things not to pack when you’re traveling may take a few people by surprise, but he’s got some valid reasons for leaving the jeans, hiking boots and other things at home.

1. A Huge Backpack to rival the SAS/Navy Seals

2. Jeans

3. Sleeping Bag

4. Hiking Boots

5. Laptop

6. SLR Camera

7. Enough Medical Supplies To Make Florence Nightingale Blush

8. A Pacsafe

9. Mosquito Net

10. Guitar

And that is his view and having read his blogs, I see that he has never been to countries where you cannot buy/hire

In Pakistan, I’m glad I had my sleeping bag and boots. They were not available.

In India, in the winter, I’m glad I had my sleeping bag because on the trains, they don’t supply you with blankets

I have travelled with/without an SLR, but I want to remember my trips through my photos, and nothing beats the quality of an SLR

But lets be realistic. Would you put YOUR feet in a pair of used boots. I wouldn’t. I would rather wear a pair that I have broken in myself.

Yep, it is his view. Everybody’s gotta make their own judgments when they go traveling. Everybody does their best, packing only what you think you’ll need and hoping you didn’t forget anything.
