TravelPod is currently recruiting Local Experts who can help other travelers when they have questions about a specific province, country or city. Could this be you?
Ideally a Local Expert knows everything about local tourist hotspots, as well as all the hidden and lesser known secrets.
Do you have your ear to the ground? Do you know where the best shopping, nightlife and restaurants are? Do you know how to get around town quickly and cheaply? If so, we’re looking for you!
Becoming a Local Expert entitles you to an enhanced membership on your travel blog, which will eliminate ads for your visitors. It also means you get a badge on your blog that tells everyone that you are a trusted source.
In return, we expect our experts to write one overview (aka a FAQ or “starter kit”) about their location and answer at least one question or start one new topic every week in our discussion forums.
Email Louise at louiseb@travelpod.com to apply.

I would love to be one of your local Kansas City experts! Thank you for this opportunity to tell you a little about what I can offer.
I look for new opportunities and experiences weekly, from exploring our downtown revival to the fun small towns nearby. In addition, every year I compile a calendar of not-to-miss events for my partner and myself, because there are just so many great festivals and events that it is important to schedule carefully to make the most of all Kansas City has to offer. I know Missouri and the Kansas City region fairly well, so day trips are within my knowledge, too. I’ve written about some of my most recent experiences in my travel blog.
Some of my particular interests include biking and hiking trails, festivals, breweries and wineries, happy hour hangouts, photography, canoeing, camping, writing, the lesbian and woman traveler, public transportation, and Missouri State Parks. I am also very familiar with Lebanon, Missouri (my hometown) and Springfield, Missouri where I attended college in some of my undergraduate years.
Thanks again for the opportunity to be considered a local expert for Kansas City!

Hi Louise
I hail from Malaysia – the land of magical islands! The interesting facet of Malaysia its got a very vibrant multiracial culture – this includes the Malaysian locals , the Indians and the Chinese. Many of these races have intermarried and created new races hitherto unknown to the western world. I have been to Melacca -the pirate island with the”eye of melacca ” ferris wheel and am now exploring Penang and Langkawi which boast of the most beautiful resorts in Malaysia. Kota Kinabalu in Sarawak – the highest mountain peak in Malaysia has the most spectacular view in this part of the world. There are some guided tours available there which are safer for the first timer climbers!
redang island and terennganu are famous worldwide for deep sea diving experts worldwide!
Although Im learning new things everyday, I could show you more by being a local expert for travel pod!
